ICEIt’s a little taste of Rockefeller Plaza off the Promenade—Santa Monica’s seasonal outdoor ICE skating rink is open for business after a gala grand opening that saw hundreds of people lacing up their skates and taking a spin around the ice.

It’s become a great holiday tradition in the seaside city’s downtown district, when the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue is transformed into a winter wonderland with the centerpiece being the 8,000 square foot rink.

Along with family fun and skating lessons, ICE at Santa Monica also has private cabanas in which to throw a party.

General admission with skate rental is $15 and lockers cost $5 more. ICE will be up and running through January 18, 2016. The rink is open until 10 PM Sunday through Thursday nights and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
