Audi Emmy PartyFor the past seven years, luxury automaker Audi has been known to put on one of the liveliest parties during Emmy Week in Los Angeles. After all, it is the official automotive partner and vehicle provider of the Primetime Emmy Awards.

But this year’s bash honoring the Emmys is already going down in event history as Audi’s best. Aside from the spirited and beautiful crowd, which included Emmy contenders like Cuba Gooding Jr. (who played The Juice in “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”) and Rami Malek (who ended up taking the trophy for “Mr. Robot”) it was all about the new venue.

Catch is so brand spanking new that it hadn’t even opened yet, meaning it was the first time for all of the guests, although bi-coastals know it from New York. And it made a dazzling first impression.

The restaurant and bar is located on Melrose Ave. and San Vicente Blvd., directly across from the Pacific Design Center, with a wrap-around patio overlooking that iconic location with its blue, green and red buildings.

On the night of the party, mirroring the black carpet for arrivals at street level, Audi’s signature four rings were projected onto the PDC, making for an arresting backdrop to all the photos that were taken.

Indoors and out, welcoming, polite and efficient staff served bountiful hors d’oeuvres and premium wines and spirits to several hundred guests as the party continued late into the evening.

Bar at CatchTunes were provided by DJ Hannah Bronfman.

In addition to the venue itself, another highlight was photo booth in 3D, which recorded dimensional images of attendees.

But we can’t forget about the cars from our gracious host. The 2017 Audi R8 made a special red carpet appearance, in addition to the 2017 Audi Q7, which chauffeured VIPs including Cat Deeley (So You Think You Can Dance), Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) and Melora Hardin (Transparent), to the big night. Also in attendance, Elizabeth Banks, Tony Hale, Joel Kinnaman, Sofia Richie and “50 Shades of Grey” author E.L. James.

We drove away very, very happy—and in high gear for the Emmys. And we can’t wait to go back to Catch, where signature menu items include lobster mac & cheese, mushroom spaghetti, crispy rice cakes and oyster shooters.
