Paley Fest Showcases and Celebrates Fall Television Shows

Paley FestIt’s coming up on that time of the season when the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills presents its fall television festival, Paley Fest. It runs from September 6-16 at the center’s location on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills.

Among the programs being showcased are Showtime’s “Shameless,” Univision’s “Chapo,” Hulu’s “The Mindy Project,” which is entering its final season, and the streamer’s new “Future Man,” ABC’s new sitcom “The Mayor,” the CW’s take on the 80s classic “Dynasty” and its new military drama “Valor.” And that’s just in the first few days of the screenings and panel discussions with casts and showrunners.

Scheduled to attend are William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum from “Shameless,” Marco de la O, who stars as Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, Josh Hutcherson, Haley Joel Osment and Ed Begley, Jr. from “Future Man,” Mindy Kaling and castmates from “The Mindy Project,” “The Mayor’s” Lea Michele and Brandon Micheal Hall, (yes, he spells his middle name as Micheal) Christina Ochoa and Matt Barr from “Valor” and Grant Show, Elizabeth Gillies and Nathalie Kelley from “Dynasty.”

OWN will present a panel for its hit drama “Queen sugar” with creator and executive producer Ava DuVernay and cast members including Rutina Wesley, Omar Dorsey and Dawn-Lyen Gardner.

One of the most anticipated true crime dramas of the season, “The Menendez Murders” will screen its premiere episode followed by a panel discussion with creator and executive producer Dick Wolf, along with Edie Falco, Gus Halper and Miles Gaston Vaillanueva, who respectively play attorney Leslie Abramson, Eric Menendez and Lyle Menendez.

CBS will present Bobby Moynihan’s new comedy “Me, Myself and I” and screenings of “Wisdom of the Crowd,” starring Jeremy Piven and its military drama “SEAL Team.”

Seth McFarlane will be on hand for his homage to “Star Trek,” “The Orville,” with cast members including Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald and Scott Grimes, part of the crew on the spaceship. Fox will also feature a panel with “Ghosted” stars Craig Robinson and Adam Scott along with a screening of “The Gifted.”

Netflix is scheduled to present a screening and panel for “Big Mouth” with Nick Kroll, Mira Rudolph and John Mulaney, and one for “Fuller House.” BET is slated for an evening with “Comedy Get Down” with Cedric the Entertainer and George Lopez.

EPIX gets the final slot in the festival with its espionage drama “Berlin Station.” Richard Armitage and Ashley Judd are slated to attend with executive producer Bradford Winters.
