Leonisa Shapewear

There’s been a welcome trend in recent years for an intolerance of body-shaming and an acceptance of all shapes and sizes that may not fit society’s idealized version, especially for women.

One of the brands that holds that as its highest principle is Leonisa, which aims to have women celebrate their curves and feel confident in their own skin.

Sure, there are other shapewear companies, and you may not have yet heard of Leonisa, which started 60 years ago and made its name in Latin America.

But now its products are available in more than 500 Macy’s locations across the country and at 400 multibrand boutiques in 24 countries. Plus, there are more than 100 stand-alone Leonisa shops in a dozen more countries– so it’s not exactly hard to find.

We were introduced to the brand and had the opportunity to try its Truly Invisible Control Short, the type of wardrobe staple we would use multiple times a week. It provides moderate control, slims the lower tummy and the leg bands seamlessly transition to the skin.

An added benefit is that the lightweight design naturally shapes your rear. That’s a selling point for other such products in the line as well. I mean, who wants to have surgery when you can have a shapelier butt more naturally, with no downtime or side effects.

Yet for those that do have surgeries, such as breast and liposuction, Leonisa offers doctor-recommended post-surgical compression garments.

And Leonisa has you fully covered with a line of shapewear that offers four levels of compression, from back support bras to midriff shapers to thigh slimmers and leggings. Basically, we’re talking pretty much shoulders to feet. The products slim your stomach, emphasize your waistline and slim your arms and legs.

There’s also stylish and sexy swimwear as well as active wear and sleepwear, so we’re really talking 24/7 coverage!

The guys are not left out here. There is a men’s line called Leo, naturally.
