Although things weren’t back to pre-pandemic normal for Emmy Awards 2021 weekend, one of the highlights was the two-day DPA luxury gifting lounge for nominees, presenters and other VIPs at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel.

All attendees of the event were required to show Covid-19 vaccination cards or a recent negative PCR test for admittance, with the goal of keeping everyone safe– and masks were required to be worn throughout.

But once inside, those cares faded away as guests were treated to an array of products from brands around the world including from many female and Black-owned companies.

The soirée was set up in the hotel’s garden and in four private suites filled with gifts like jewelry, cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, home accessories, wine, candy and baked goods.

Emmy Governors Award winner Debbie Allen was seen making the rounds. Also spotted: Emmy nominee Billy Porter, Tyra Banks, Titus Burgess, Porscha Coleman, Chase Dillon, Jeremiah Westbrook, LuCien Gaston, Fred Melayeh and Jackie Tohn, along with many others enjoying the celebratory vibe of the event.

DPA’s Nathalie Dubois-Sissoko was on her feet the whole time, making sure everyone was being well taken care of, even as pandemic restrictions continue.

“Everybody has been suffering during this past year and a half, but people wanted to promote their brands, and needed to keep going and get awareness around their products,” she says. “This is the best way to help small brands stay alive. We have in this event lots of small businesses, women owned businesses, and Black owned businesses. This is the only platform they will get this year to express themselves.”

Delicious meals enjoyed al fresco by guests were provided by LA’s Carvery Kitchen.

Among the brands showcased at the event were Bowies Bites dog treats, Noble Brand home fragrances, Bijoux macarons, Omorose cosmetics, Helen Ficalora, Brush Buddies, Lisa Rinna Beauty, Mantra facial masks, Verita Couture, Edith swimwear, Le Taha’a by Pearl Resorts, Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts, Ultimate Provence rose wine, State of Being candles, Sparti Scents, My Bougie decorated water bottles, Deux Marie cosmetics and skincare, Beach Sandy sustainable beach products, the Candy Pushers vintage handmade candy, Herkemer Diamonds jewelry, Nora’s Naturals coffee, Geek Eyewear, ZenWTR, Sélee, Fallen Stars, H2O Sonoma Soft Seltzer, Shimran books and Go Dash Dot.
