Oscar Suite Treats
What would Oscar Week be without gifting suites? With the disaster in Haiti, this time they also ponied up for those less fortunate. Silver Spoon took over a furniture store in WeHo for its lovely two-day event, which helped raise funds for Haitian relief. Inside, guests found products from Jenna Leigh Lingerie, The Shop, Card Store, Aiaiai earphones, Bloom skincare, Perry Ellis sunglasses, hats and shirts, Ty Ku Asian wine and spirits–with bottles that light up in the dark– Lash Food lash growing products, Bandals interchangeable sandals, Bota wine and Wembe eco-friendly soap. Outside, a Fatburger truck grilling made to order burgers was the perfect topper to the event.
At a private Beverly Hills estate, Debbie Durkin hosted her Green Carpet Hospitality Lounge with a Blue Ice Vodka martini bar sponsored by Waterford crystal, a Bud Lime beer garden and organic food from chef Alex Fioroni. Attendees sampled organic French-milled soap from Ton Savon, hair styling tools from Hai, Single clothing, Von Zipper sunglasses and Booty Hog gear. Hyundai provided celeb transport to and from the location, which also sported a photo studio where guests could have their portraits taken and then donated for auction to benefit the Red Cross.
It was the one of a kind bling that was the main event at the StyleLab Oscar Jewelry Suite, set up in a heavily secured suite in a top luxury hotel. (OK, that one, where a major robbery took place elsewhere on site during Oscar Week.) Style expert Michael O’Connor, as always, jets in from New York with his carefully curated collection of stunning red carpet showpieces to dangle from the ears, necks and wrists of the stars, from top jewelry designers including Chad Allison, Erica Courtney, Leticia Linton, Gem Platinum, CliQ Jewelry and Ashok Sancheti. From diamond tie-pins and cufflinks for the guys to huge colored gemstone earrings and stunning brooches, O’Connor provided a one-stop sparkle shop for the Oscars.
