Events at the Esquire House benefited causes including Oceana and Oxfam—and filled the night air with music from the likes of the Doobie Brothers

If you have about $19 million to spend on a hillside manse, we’ve got just the place for you.  But oh, snap, we just heard someone already bought it for the asking price, someone connected to a major Silcon Valley tech firm.

It’s the hilltop manse in West Hollywood’s famed Bird Street area with to-die-for views that was this year’s Esquire House. The vaunted men’s magazine took over the 9,000 square foot Doheny Estates abode and with the help of designers and sponsors turned it a dream house for the ultimate bachelor, who is also, of course, a consummate host and naturally, a huge chick magnet.  Each evening benefited worthy causes including City of Hope, Oceana and Oxfam, and each featured live performances from a stage outside between the main house and a two-story guest house/recording studio. Esquire began creating such destinations in 2003, alternating between New York and Los Angeles, as a way to bring to life and showcase some of its key advertisers, including the likes of Hugo Boss, Salvatore Ferragamo, Saks Fifth Avenue, Mont Blanc, Glenfiddich, Absolut, Heineken and Lufthansa.

Guests marveled over the sexy, lush master bedroom, designed by Annette English, and looked with awe at its walk-in closet filled with Ferragamo clothing, shoes and accessories and designed by Lisa Adams of LA Closet Design. A smaller women’s closet—the “girlfriend” closet—was also filled entirely with Ferragamo. The house also featured a stunning home theater set-up that had guys drooling. The entire project took nearly a year and was chronicled on a DIY Network special, “The Making of the Ultimate Bachelor Pad.”
