Red carpet ready: Timmy Woods sparkling clutches at the RNSH Academy Awards Suite

From the Andaz to the Luxe to the Four Seasons, Montage, Peninsula, the London and L’Ermitage, a wide swath of luxury hotels in Beverly Hills and West Holywood were buzzing with beautifying and gifting in the days leading up to the Oscars.

It’s the awards season rite known as gifting suites, and although they’ve scaled back since the days before the recession—no more hired-out mansions with private chefs and massages in cabanas by the pool—they’re still highly sought-after invites. Especially if you’re a woman wanting to partake of the plentiful beauty and hair services being offered by organizers. And if you’re a celebrity, you’ll leave with bags full of goodies.

Roger and Lynn Neal put on their Style Hollywood Ultimate Beauty Suite at L’Ermitage, and featured rejuvenating facials by the experts from G.M. Collin skincare, using their top-notch signature products. Also on the beauty front, Rituals makeup and fragrances and Shaboom Naked Lady cosmetics were on hand. The suite also showcased Timmy Woods sparkling evening bags—a nice alternative to Judith Leiber—and her new line of designer jewelry with red carpet-worthy earrings, necklaces and bracelet. As always at the Neals, guests did not go hungry or thirsty, with an open bar and plenty of healthy sandwiches and fresh fruit served on the outdoor patio. Adding more heat to the three-day event: Wardell’s gourmet barbecue sauce, made from a family recipe handed down for three generations.

The Andaz Hotel, more popularly known as the Riot Hyatt on Sunset, was host to the Studio at HAVEN360 Lifestyle Lounge. Fred Segal was on hand for blowouts, and Painted Nail for awards-worthy manicures, including its popular gold glitter polish—perfect for Oscar festivities. If you needed a tan, SunFX set up shop for full-body bronzing. Wanted to smell nice? From France, Caron Paris fragrances, along with great skincare products from Lierac Paris, including their new Morpho-Slim stomach and waist resculpting firming concentrate. Rodial Skin Spa also featured its slimming system. Guests could borrow gowns from Lending Luxury and jewels from Rockstar Jewelry. Henry Eshelman supplied his always great beats in the Monster DJ booth and guests could get their own on with WOWee One, a portable power speaker that attaches to any of your electronics for boom-boom sound.

Refreshment of the adult beverage variety was provided by Russian Standard, and mixed with Monster, could get you through the festivities with nary a care in the world. Evan Handler, Constantine Maroulis and Jena Malone were among the guests who attended the exclusive event.

At the London hotel, the Alive! Expo set up shop in the main ballroom, filling it with a great mix of eco and natural products, and other must-haves like Wacoal’s new slimming line of shapewear, Wolfgang Puck bottled coffee drinks for a caffeine kick and clothing from Love Gone Apparel. Eleven-year old found Megan Kent presented her cool rocker tees to celebs and attendees who stopped by. She had come into town with her mom from Florida, and by the time things were wrapping up, said she was exhausted but thrilled to be at the award suite.

Robin Wright and Alan Cummings were among those who came and enjoyed raw food chef Jason Wrobel’s Oscar-worthy vegan snacks. Jewelry designer Michelle Abogado presented her new collection of eco-friendly jewels, featuring bracelets and rings of bold colored stones.

Alive! Expo is in its fifth year and supports the nonprofit organization Project Green.

On the penthouse level of the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive, the fourth annual Wow! Creations Lifestyle Gifting Lounge took over to create an indoor/outdoor oasis in preparation for the Oscars. The event filled the space with vendors including Biox skincare, Premiere bath and body products, Silver Linings accessories, Pure Body Organics skincare products and Don Francisco coffee.
