A Soolip Wedding: The Invitation to the Best in Bridal

What better place to hold a wedding showcase than one of the most desirable locations to tie the knot, the exclusive Bel Air Bay club on a bluff overlooking the ocean in Pacific Palisades, California.

The event known as “A Soolip Wedding” featured a fashion show of the latest bridal designs and brought together vendors of everything from jewelry to gowns, cakes to invitations, photography to caterers, flowers to champagne and of course, a collection of great locations to hold a dream wedding and event planners to take care of all the details.

A Soolip Wedding, with its theme of “Crystal Showers, Eternal Flowers,” was the brainchild of Wanda Wen, the founder of esteemed stationer Soolip, who organized the participation of prestigious brands and artisans who work to create memorable, stylish weddings. She’s been doing this since 1999.

More than 60 vendors participated, including jeweler Black, Starr & Frost, avant-garde bridal couture line St. Pucchi and Soolip Paperie and Press, which showcased its au-courant invitations that set the tone for the nuptials.

“A wedding is a celebration of unconditional love and discovery of pure, untouched beauty that encapsulates life’s most precious moments in one occasion, yet is destined to generate an eternity of meaningful experiences to come,” Wen says.

She drew inspiration for that theme of the event from a vision she created for a ceremony in the Dolomite Mountains of Italy where natural, unpolished crystals dripped from an elliptical chandelier hovering above the betrothed couple as they exchanged vows. The symbolic imagery of suspended raw crystals wrapped in gold wire was showered throughout the fete.

Hundreds of guests partook of food and wine tastings provided by the London hotel, Mr. C, the Beverly Hills Hotel and Warner Bros. Special Events, along with Good Gracious! Events and Charm City Cakes.

The gorgeous floral designs were from Mille Fiori throughout the private club and gracing beautifully set tables– one used place cards for the principals in “The Great Gatsby” like Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby to create a feeling of old world luxury and elegance.

Entertainers from Elan Artists provided the music as hundreds of attendees took in the scene. If you didn’t have a ring on your finger when you entered, you certainly wanted one after this showcase.

Also providing romantic inspiration were media sponsors Town & Country, The Knot and Utterly Engaged, David Pressman Events and the design house of Rrivre Works.
