From Affleck to Vaughn and Eastwood to Foxx and Kimmel, It’s a Man’s World at The Guys Choice Awards

Walking into a rain forest-themed soundstage at Sony Pictures Studios for the taping of the 2013 Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, several things were immediately apparent.

The level of testosterone in the room was off the charts– and when you threw in a dancing bow-tied giraffe, a bevy of leopard print dress-clad beauties and a sizable contingent of American service people in uniform into the mix, you just knew this was not going to be your average awards show.

Standing singularly femininely and funnily, in most cases, amidst a wide swath of manly men were host Jessica Alba, presenters Jennifer Aniston and Olivia Wilde and recipient Kayley Cuoco.

Who remembers Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla’s “The Man Show?” Kimmel has come along way since then, just in the last year hosting the Emmys and having his late-night show moved to the sweet spot of 11:30 p.m. face off against Jay (soon to be the other Jimmy), and Dave.

But he was there to accept the Funniest M-F award from Ms. Aniston, and if you don’t know what M-F stands for, you are tuned to the wrong channel.

“Guys don’t remember their kids’ birthdays, but know the 1986 Mets batting averages,” Kimmel said about the manly sex.

Here are the some of the highlights:

Bradley Cooper appeared to introduce Vince Vaughn and roll a clip reel of some of his big-screen highlights going back to his breakout role in “Swingers.” I don’t care what they say, I still want to see “The Internship,” even if it isn’t as raunchy as “Wedding Crashers.” But I do wonder if it was weird for Vaughn to see former flame Aniston– or maybe she was whisked away before he made his appearance.

We picked an inopportune moment to step out to a not very close ladies room and therefore missed much of Snoop Lion’s set.

Movie star madness continued with Jamie Foxx, who suggested the two do a movie together.

Buzz Aldrin, one of the first men on the moon, lamented the lack of sponsorship on his space voyage to that pockmarked orb in the sky, but did admit, “Tang sucks!”– referring to a powdered orange drink that may or may not still be around.

Aldrin was on hand to laud Felix Baumgartner, the guy who did that supersonic, record-breaking leap.

Douchebags of the Year was a hysterical segment performed by Triumph the Comic Insult Dog by way of comedian Jeff Ross. Some of those on his d-bag list: Kim Jong-Il, Amanda Bynes and Lance Armstrong

And how can you top an appearance by the original dude from “The Big Lebowski,”  Jeff Bridges? Well, you bring out Clint Eastwood to introduce Ben Affleck. Did hedo a better speech than he did at the Oscars? Tune in to find out.

The 2013 Guys Choice Awards air on Spike TV Wednesday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
