The lifestyle of the Cote d’Azur, the French Riviera, evokes sexy sophistication and beachy elegance–and that is exactly the spirit of XB, a new premium vodka cocktail that’s just hit US shores and is making its way into some of the top hotel, restaurant and club venues in the nation.
And it was during a perfect summer evening on the garden rooftop of West Hollywood’s French-inspired Petit Ermitage hotel that a select group of invited guests first got to experience XB, which is an abbreviation for the classic cocktail called Sex on the Beach.
Mixologist Brian Stewart was on hand to create signature libations made with XB, which blends premium triple distilled Swiss vodka with orange, cranberry, peach and grape juices– and is eminently drinkable on its own. He blended several delicious concoctions including the XB Sexy with gin, a little honey syrup topped with soda and fresh chilled cucumber slices that was a big hit amongst the attendees.
XB proved to be a great day-into- evening drink– with a modest 12.5% alcohol content, similar to that of a glass of wine– as the crowd took in the view of the Sunset Strip and the Hollywood Hills from the top of the boutique hotel in the golden time just before sunset.
Stewart told us that in addition to tequila, whiskey, gin or vodka, XB also mixes well with champagne or sparkling wine. Sadly, there just wasn’t enough time to try all of those combinations.
Cheers to the next round of XB, which comes in a handsome bottle that incorporates a nautical design with red stripes and blue iconography set against a clean white backdrop with the logo of a woman kneeling in the sand holding an umbrella.
