GBK Pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge
You know the saying: location, location, location. And GBK Productions always comes up with a good one for its GBK Pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge. This year for the 10th annual edition of the event, it set up shop at the St. Supéry Tasting Room on Beverly Hills’ famed Rodeo Drive.
It’s a dramatic, two-story venue with a sweeping double staircase in the heart of the high-end shopping street that was once home to the Lladró store– and a perfect showcase for guests to imbibe in wines from the Napa Valley St. Supéry vineyard– and get gifted from great brands.
Talk about wining and dining. Michelin Star Chef Filippo Sinisgalli of Il Palato, which presented the two-day event, provided the gourmet food being served.
Il Palato also presented celebrities a deluxe gift box filled with organic tomato sauce, organic pasta, extra virgin olive oil, beautiful hand-made stainless steel fork to cook pasta, as well as a gift certificate for a private Italian dinner experience with unique wine pairings for up to 15 people.
The high-profile guest list at GBK included past Academy Award winners Susan Sarandon and Viola Davis and those who would go on to become 2018 Oscar winners, Alexandre Desplat (“The Shape of Water”), Doug Jones (“The Shape of Water”), Rachel Shenton and Chris Overton (“The Silent Child”) and Oscar presenters Wes Studi and Mark Hamill.
The set-up from The Artisan Group is always a cornucopia of gorgeous handmade goodies and this year was no exception. Participating artists included Starletta Designs, Tahmi Woven Metal, Wicked Lovely Jewelry, Kari Asbury Jewelry, Chaositi Jewelry, The Vintage Locket, Yun Boutique, Bead Lovers Corner, Inchoo Bijoux, Three Sisters Apothecary and the Nib & Quill.

Other vendors included My Star Moment, which created charts of the night sky for significant dates like birthdays and wedding anniversaries which are then printed into frameable artwork, Texere Silk with sumptuous silk robes, perfect for lounging or after spa treatments, John Kelly chocolates, with the decadent assortment of truffles, living in gratitude, which promotes finding more joy, happiness and love and Safi Kalimi Tanzanite, offering a stunning selection of tanzanite fine jewelry and Cambria which offered nominees and presenters $5,000 kitchen renovations and marble cheese boards.
