Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver return after WGA strike settlement

After five long WGA-stricken months, all of the late-night hosts are back on the air and wasting no time in doing what they do best, skewering the latest news events, each with their own humorous spin.

But first, deep gratitude over the tentative settlement with the AMPTP that allowed the shows go back on the air. Late night was the first casualty of the WGA strike when it began in early May, with lights on their stages immediately going dark.

All of the hosts-John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, the Jimmys Fallon and Kimmel and Seth Meyers—are also WGA members, but rely on large numbers of writers for their up-to-the-minute material.

The five men, seemingly competitors but actually pretty good buddies, had hosted a podcast during the strike called “Strike Force Five ” for which all of the proceeds went to support their off the job scribes. Not as good as Drew Carey paying for guild members’ meals at two LA-area restaurants but much appreciated by the staffs of the shows.

The joke’s on Trump in this Colbert billboard

None of the hosts wasted any time skewering former POTUS and current Republican presidential candidate frontrunner Donald Trump, who’s on trial in New York for fraud.

Al of them gloated about Trump’s social media message saying all the late night creeps were back and called them losers.

Colbert even put up a Times Square billboard advertising his show with a quote from the former president, seemingly endorsing the program. So glad late night is back. Now let’s get the actors back to work…
