Emmy Week can be a whirlwind of red carpets, cocktail parties and industry schmoozing, so a little poolside vibe and some adorable dogs made for a welcome change of pace.
On Friday, Sept. 11, producer Debbie Durkin hosted her annual ECOLUXE Endless Summer Festival at a private Beverly Hills residence, bringing together actors, athletes, entertainment insiders and animal lovers for an afternoon that mixed summer-party vibes with a good cause: supporting Wagmor Pets Dog Rescue.
Among the guests were Gilles Marini, Jesse Kove, Obba Babatundé, Juju Brener, Mila Brener, Shirly Brener, Jasmine Davis, Nadège August, Porscha Coleman, Joseph Gatt, Terrence Terrell, Brandi Vanderbeek, Matt Vanderbeek, Marc Anthony Nicolas, Jarrod Bunch, Rosie McDonald, Carrie Bernans, Crystal Jumps, Patricia Kara, Adam Waheed and RJ Cyler.
Guests stopped for portraits with photographer David Christopher Lee, sampled food from Petros on Sunset and Strictly Vegan, and checked out an eclectic assortment of wellness, beauty, fashion and lifestyle offerings. There was also a lip-gloss-making station courtesy of Libertad Vida Beauty, while five-year-old entrepreneur Aria showed off Colors by Aria, her line of color-changing lip oils.
The Jamaica Tourism Board brought along Blue Mountain Coffee, Relax Sauna offered wellness treatments, and Ross Massage promoted its corrective bodywork. Pet lovers had plenty to investigate as well, with My Best Bud showcasing its pet wellness products and Marci’s Pet Kitchen handing out dog treats.
But the real stars of the afternoon may have been the four-legged guests. Wagmor brought dogs available for foster and adoption, giving attendees an opportunity to mingle with some potential new family members while enjoying the festivities.
DJ Paxy supplied the soundtrack, while guests headed home with gift bags packed with goodies ranging from Fayah Streetwear sunglasses and ettitude bamboo bedding to Honey & Stone Beauty products, ECOLUXE merchandise and, naturally, treats for the dogs.
Now in its 19th year, Durkin’s Emmy Week gathering once again offered a decidedly less formal way to celebrate the television crowd — no acceptance speeches required, just good food, music, a little pampering and plenty of puppy time.
