Green is Golden at an Oscar Week Soiree

Indoors, outdoors, at the hotel suites and venues all over town, the annual events known as Oscar suites revved up as participants counted down to the big night.

The weather was perfect for the Alive Expo Green Pavilion/Mix Media Luxury Lounge held on the rooftop of the Petersen Automotive Museum, with a breathtaking view of the glistening gold Streamline Moderne May Co. building now part of LACMA– and the Hollywood Hills.

And although the view may have been golden, this one was all about green, as in eco-green, with event owners Kim Kreiss and Patrycja Siewert-Towns using the occasion to officially launch Project Green, whose mission is to protect green space for future generations. The non-profit org will develop “back to basic” summer camps for under-served children and teens that will focus on building self-esteem and awareness of the environment by incorporating challenging and fun activities.

Naturally, all of the products being showcased and gifted to guests had a green stamp of approval. Continuing the theme, they were treated to the amazing sounds of Rubi Green (daughter of legendary Al Green), and other hot new artists such as IDMA nominated Jason Walker, Victoria Rowe and the Jazz, renowned opera singers and new generation of singing tenors Nathan Granner and Ben Gulley, soulful singer Kerri-Anne, the Los Angeles based eclectic, indie rock trio Armada and Nocko.

The VIP Eco-luxe lounge was a chill spot where guests could relax while taking a break from the festivities, which went for two days and included an evening cocktail bash, amid decor provided by The Fractal Gallery and Bohbod Furniture. Other visual attractions that made it unique, the large wooden animal sculptures by  Matt Torrens and artwork by Daniel Maltzman.

Among the guests were Oscar winner Ed Cunningham (who won for his documentary “Undefeated”), Rachelle Carson, Caroline Lagerfelt (Gossip Girl), Quinton Aaron (The Blind Side), Carolyn Hennesy (Cougar Town, General Hospital), Sharif Atkins (White Collar), Izabella Miko (Clash of the Titans, Repo) and Sam Tan (The Hunger Games).

They were treated to products and services from Aubrey Organics, Naked Grape Wines, Organic Valley Creamers, BioK Plus, Ferro Cosmetics, Style Cupcakes, Body Ecology, One Z Jumpsuits, Jaime Lee Style Cupcakes, Fashion Hope, Undercover, YouNique Plastic Surgery, G Bike, Bari Organic Olive Oil, Boka Super Foods, Gungho, Icelandic  Glacial, O’Doggie, Status Vodka, Zuri Wines Sokienbicha, Cascal, Mohawk Carpet, GotWheatGrass, He Organics, Sweet Piece, Glamhouse, Jewelry, Guilty Star, Bellacures Nail Bar, Sun Lounge Tanning Studio & Spa, Dr. Mark Youssef, NEWD Clothing, Donna Gates, Pixi Beauty, Only You Can Save Energy, House of Art & Games, RAG Pearls by Fleur De Bee and Butterfly Art Necklaces by Brittany Gerson.
